Family Meal Time

"Wedding in Skagen" by Anna Archer

“The sharing of meals has too often been neglected and is commonly now thought to be a trivial or less important part of the home, education, or community life. I believe such ignorance is serious and has caused the collapse of one of life’s foundations. It does not take up too much time; it is a thread that holds life together....

“Ah, how one looks forward to this satisfying regular part of life…Nothing can replace this day-in, day-out pattern. NOTHING…! Relationships are forged around the table. It is a vital part of life.”

~Susan Schaeffer Macaulay, For the Family’s Sake

i *love* that.. it is so true. with little ones scintillating dinner conversation is usually little more than a fond remembrance, but that doesn't mean that dinner together is less important♥

  2. Family time around a meal is a great memory maker. Hopefully the time of fellowship is sweet!

  3. We treaure our meal times greatly, it is usually louder than I'd like (8 boys) but I'm blessed to be able to prepare our meals and gather my children around the table each evening. Their favorite part of dinner besides the food is taking turns sharing "best things today".

If you have questions, words of blessing or encouragement, or simply want to say, "Hello," you are more than welcome to share here. I do ask visitors to respect this as a place of peace, not dispute. Please refrain from posting any ungracious comments. Thank you.

Comments are open, though I reserve the right to moderate or delete at my discretion. If you post anonymously, please identify yourself in some way (initials, pseudonymn, etc.) so that I can address you specifically, as there are often multiple anonymous posters on any given comment thread.

I do so look forward to sharing with you all and, God willing, meeting some new friends. May the peace of Christ be with you all.
